Queen here. Continuing our home show, this is the Chipmunk house. Their place was recently remodeled due to major heat damage. Before the Chipmunks moved in, this house was smaller. It was for sale unfurnished at a garden store. The garden store employees left it in a greenhouse over a very hot weekend, and when they came back, all the staircases and the topmost story had fallen off. The hot melt glue did exactly what it was supposed to: It melted when it got hot.
The Chipmunk family is not complaining. Mr. Chipmunk is our local builder. He got to work and enlarged the upper story and right-side balcony, which was just in time because a new baby was added to their family shortly after they moved in.
The Chipmunks were the first family to have upholstered furniture and crocheted rugs. Now everybody has to have upholstered furniture, and our holder has made so many rugs the store has them for sale. The Chipmunks also have a couple of furniture items that were purchased. Yes, it’s true. Sometimes our holder uses commercially made items. In this case, the chest of drawers and the dressing table in the master bedroom were not made by our holder. We have forgiven her for this, because they were given to her by a friend. We like the dressers she makes herself better, because the drawers are real, and you can actually open them. This would be great if we had anything to put in them.
Our holder also bought a doll house stove for the Chipmunk house. She won’t do it again, because she had to cut the legs off to get it in the kitchen. Doll house furniture is a little too big for Calico Critters, and requires adjustment.
You’ll notice that that their kitchen sink is made from solid walnut, just what you’d expect in a carpenter’s house.
Here’s the rest of the pictures.
